WRESTLING BITS AND BITES WRITTEN: November 16, 2001

PLUG AND WARNING: If you're not interested in listening to me REALLY get pissy and just want to play PPV predictions, skip ahead to the end.

After what I witnessed on RAW, the WWF is even lucky I care to acknowledge their existence any further.

Simply atrocious.

Over the years, I have dealt with a lot of Vince's BS. To see him not only bury a group of guys he really has no loyalty to in the first place (anyone from WCW who didn't jump to the WWF prior to the invasion) is one can of worms, and a can fans have been groaning about for a long time.

HOWEVER to watch Mick Foley walk out and display the kind of emotion he did was hard to deal with. It's so eerily reminiscent of Bret Hart's departure, and Shawn Michaels' earlier this year. Here is a man who gave Vince EVERYTHING he had and then some. He'll spend the rest of his life in some sort of pain.

Did Foley have to do the stuff he did? Heavens no. Nobody put a gun to his head and said "do the following".

Would Vince have made as much money if Foley didn't do the stuff he did? Absolutely not.

Who owes who here?

Vince McMahon is a business man through and through. But to see it seep out onto my television just isn't right. To know that Mick Foley won't make another dime from Vince because Vince doesn't believe Foley can make HIM any further money is a joke.

I really hope guys like Jeff Hardy take a step back and ask themselves why they're doing what it is they're doing. I hope Steve Austin is aware of the fact that nothing's forever, and when he overstays his welcome he too will be taken out back and shot like the rest of them.

Don't feed me "I'm taking an angle too hard" BS. News reports all over the net are confirming what I felt in the pit of my stomach while watching Mick - which was he is NOT happy and is probably as good as done with the WWF, perhaps appearing one more time on RAW.

This is not an angle.

Maybe I take what I watch far too seriously. I know my tiny piece of the ratings pie is completely irrelevant to Vince McMahon. And perhaps you the reader as well.

But I'm sick and tired.

My Bits and Bites rants are going to become unreliable I'm afraid. If I don't feel like watching RAW or Smackdown! I won't. If things are hot, I may watch twice a week. I won't swear off the WWF. As much as I hate Vince McMahon for what he's doing I am a wrestling fan and since they're the only show in town there's not a whole lot of places I can turn.

I will also continue to recap Excess (I REALLY have to do the one with Christian on the show… It's sitting at home in my VCR.). But right now I've NEVER felt as low about wrestling as I feel right now. I know I've only been writing here regularly for about 5 or 6 months now - but believe me when I tell you I've been watching FAR longer.

By the way, I really don't care how cool Heyman's promo apparently was. I didn't watch. I don't care. I'll live with not having seen it - since it'll be irrelevant by Monday anyway. (A couple people from the EZBoard ICQed me tonight asking what I thought, so I thought I'd toss that in…)

I will REALLY love to see how they book themselves out of the mess they're in. Apparently the losing team at Survivor Series has to go away. Who wants to bet that stip doesn't last 2 weeks?

On with the monthly predictions. I still dig this part! Remember to SEND YOUR PICKS IN TO GET IN ON THE LEADERBOARD!!!
